Death by Chocolate - Chocolate Bouchee's
There is a very exciting contest going on,that I just read about, organized by Culinate, and called 'Death by Chocolate'. The winner wins a chocolatey trip to Napa Valley for two, to attend the Copia Center’s annual Death by Chocolate Festival, and also a dinner for two at the famous 'French Laundry' restaurant. So, how could I not participate? Especially since I have this rich, calorie packed masterpiece and nothing can take their place! I'm sorry I don't have a picture of my own to share of these delicious morsels..(they simply dissappear off serving dishes) but take my word for it.. they are worth every jiggling thighs filled calorie! So, you just walk an extra 3 miles after tasting these! LOL
Jady's Famous Holiday Chocolate Bouchee's
3 1/2 Tbl cocoa powder
1 1/4 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
10 Tbls butter
3 Tbl corn oil
5 oz unsweetned chocolate (chopped)
2 cups plus 2 Tbls light brown sugar
3 eggs plus 1 egg yolk
6 Tbls (3 fluid oz) B & B Cognac Liqueur
Glaze:
9 oz chopped semisweet chocolate
6 fluid oz corn oil
1/2 oz ( 1 Tbls ) B & B Cognac Liqueur
Butter & flour a 9 inch pan. Sift together cocoa, flour salt & cinnamon. Melt butter, corn oil & chocolate over a double boiler. Place melted chocolate mixture in a mixing bowl. Allow to cool 5 minutes. Add brown sugar & beat well. Add eggs slowly. Add B & B Liqueur. Slowly add dry ingredients, mixing until incorporated.
Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-30 minutes.
* Glaze
Melt chocolate, corn oil and B & B Liqueur over a double boiler. Let brownies cool and cut into desired shapes, or 1 inch squares. Place on cake rack over pan to catch drippings. Pour warm glaze to coat. Chill until glaze sets. Strain & refrigerate drippings... if desired ( great over vanilla bean ice cream!! )
** " These are not like any brownie you've ever eaten. They are rich, calorie packed masterpieces and nothing can take their place. These are best directly out of refrigerator. I wrap these seperately in candy foils. I recommend refrigerating them prior to serving."
I was able to find this picture.. envision them wrapped in colorful candy foils to serve.
So, what do you think? Is this entry worth of winning the best chocolate entry for the 'Death by chocolate' contest? If so, please vote for me!!!!! :)
When you vote, you too automatically enter the draw, and you can also win the same two tickets for the chocolatey tour of Napa Valley. The deadline is February 8th, so.. hurry up!!!
